CASE STUDY: Detached bungalow, Constantine, Falmouth.
Brief:
Conversion of a detached bungalow of Tarran Construction to a 3 bedroom detached country house – Constantine, Falmouth.
This project involved removing the existing roof and trusses, installation of a structural steel portal frame and erection of a first floor single skin timber frame structure with new pitched roof including all new partitioning to ground and first floor. The most important design factor here was ensuring that no load from the timber frame or roof was transferred to the existing external walls, which had to remain in place throughout.
