Painter and Decorator - Cornwall and Isles of Scilly

 

Due to securing a range of new project and maintenance contracts, we're looking for a full time Painter & Decorator to join our team!

 

Experienced in a range of Painting & Decorating skills & disciplines, this role would suit an experienced Decorator with experience in producing high quality and seamlessly finished decoration works. You will be required to undertake a variety of projects in New builds, refurbishments, and maintenance in properties and on sites in the private and public sectors across Cornwall, no two days are ever the same.

Do you enjoy the variety of working in a planned and reactive maintenance environment, but also on-site projects? Do you strive to deliver a first-class professional service every time? Essential:

  • Competent in a range of Painting & Decorating skills & disciplines
  • Experienced working in a busy multi-site maintenance environment
  • Experienced working on busy construction sites
  • A good knowledge and appreciation of Construction Health and Safety
  • Proactive ability to solve problems
  • Fantastic Customer Service skills
  • Minimum NVQ2 in a related discipline
  • Full UK Driving Licence

 

Desirable:

  • A working knowledge in a range of other trades to include plastering, tiling and carpentry
  • Experience working in the Commercial and/or Public Sectors, particularly in Social Housing
  • Experience managing small teams and/or sites
  • SSSTS or SMSTS
  • NVQ3 in a related discipline
  • Asbestos Awareness Certificate
  • CSCS card

 

In return we offer a fully expensed company van with fuel card, full PPE, company workwear and contributory Company Pension. We don't expect you to have a full range of tools, but own basic hand and power tools would be advantageous.

 

Basic working is 40.5 hours per week Monday – Friday with attractive overtime rates. We do not currently offer an out of hours call out service, although this is something we are planning to offer for which a premium will be payable. From time to time you may be required to work in areas which may involve short periods staying away from home. Our clients are the most important thing to us, they are the reason we exist. We work hard to ensure they're happy, you will too.

 

Hourly rate to £13.00 dependant on experience and qualifications. Any offer will be subject to having a satisfactory DBS check and references and clearing the Police vetting.

Remote Interviewing available and face to face following strict Covid procedures. Risk assessments are in place for each individual site - appropriate PPE is available and issued - Wash hands - Make space - Cover Face.
